Before you begin, contemplate how you would like the
world to be. Envisage what it would be like to live in such
a world. You may find that it helps to write notes or to make simple
sketches to clarify your intent.
Allow
yourself at least fifteen minutes before the link-up time to calm
and focus the mind. Find a place where you will not be disturbed and
sit in a confortable position with your back erect but not stiff.
You can make use of any ritual which helps you to calm and focus the
mind. You can chant, pray or listen to appropriate music as you wish.
Surround yourself with those objects or symbols which make you feel
confident and inspired.
You
may like to say prayers such as the St Francis Prayer or recite the
Great Invocation.
Visualisation is a time-honoured way of focusing the mind.

Here is
a visualisation sequence based on the Buddhist practice of radiating
Metta (Loving Kindness) and Karuna (Compassion) first to those
you know well and then gradually expanding the field to include
all sentient beings (all beings who can feel).
|
*
In mind visualise yourself surrounded by a protection field ( a pyramid
of Living Light for instance) which allows in only that which is of
Living Light and Love, wisdom, compassion and freedom. This protection
field transmutes all other qualities into Living Light and Love, wisdom,
compassion and freedom on contact. It does not matter if your visualisation
is clear or not, as long as it is there.
Visualise Living Light and love entering your protection field and surrounding you completely.
Experience that Living Light filling every cell and space in your
body.
*
Visualise the face of a person who you deeply respect. Allow the Living
Light and Love to radiate out from your heart towards that person,
completely surrounding him or her.
*Visualise
your mother and in the same way, allow the Living Light and Love to
radiate out from your heart to her. No matter whether she is alive
or if she has passed away, the Loving Kindness (Metta) and Compassion
(Karuna) will reach her.
*Now
visualise your father and in the same way, allow the Living Light
and Love to radiate out from your heart to him.
*Visualise
people that you care for deeply: family members, loved ones, dear
friends and allow the Living Light and Love to radiate to them.
*Visualise
people that you know but not well: colleagues at work, neighbours,
people you sometimes see in the street, and allow the Living Light
and Love to radiate to them in the same way.
*
Now as if you are looking down from a satellite, see spread out below
you the living map of the country (or countries) where you usually
live. Allow Living Light and Love, like a searchlight, to play across
the country, to vitalise all living beings there.
*
Moving further out into space, see the globe of the Earth turning
slowly, lit from one side by the light of the sun: fragile home to
millions upon millions of beings who can feel. Allow the Living Light
and Love to radiate out from your heart to mother Earth.
*
In mind recollect the many thousands of people around the Earth who
are linking with you at this time. You may see them as a network of
light linked in mind and intention around the globe.
*
See in mind the world as you would like it to be. See it as actually
happening, here and now.
*
Express gratitude to and bless the wholeness/ holiness that we all
are. Know that your/our combined intention has made a profound difference
to the manifesting field of experience.
*
Gently and gradually bring the Living Light back to your room allowing
it to flow to and fill any companions with you there.
*
Allow the Living Light and Love to surround you and fill you completely,
for in your wholeness/holiness is creation made whole.

Note: since Thailand is in the northern hemisphere, I have referred to the equinoxes and solstices in the way they are referred to there. The names should be reversed for those in the southern hemisphere. |
